2012

Well that's 2011 over , now for 2012.  I'm not a great beleiver in New Year resolutions, as mostly they all seem to fall by the wayside, because  they are often unworkable, and usually  involve discomfort and pain for the person who makes them. I speak of course of diets and exercise . What I would like to do is make a list of stuff that I would quite like to happen, and which I would be , if in some manner I managed to achieve any of them, be somewhat pleased. gratified and modestly chuffed. I would also state that I am also prepared to work fairly steadily towards this state.

So here is my list of "STUFF for 20112"

1. 2011 was not the best of years for me health wise, and somewhere along the way I lost my Mojo, my energy, my joi de vivre,my bounce, call it what you will, and I really would rather like it to come home and be a part of me again. The search parties are already out looking for it and I am hopeful that it will soon send me a postcard, followed by a massive welcome home party on my part.

2. 2012 is going to be a brilliant year for me healthwise, I will do whatever it takes to be full of bounce and health, and frankly any ill health can kindly sod off and bother someone else.

3 I shall take the lid off my creativity, which has been somewhat surpressed the last few months, and allow it to explode sparkling and joyously into the multiverse. I shall follow wherever it leads me.

4. I shall be positive and do my best to "Always look on the bright side of life" (cue song). I shall let the 25 year old that permanenly resides in my head ( I was single, living and working in London and having me a ball if you must ask) out to play and if the rests of me that's older protests, then that too can lighten up and join in the fun.

5.I shall give gratitude everyday for my beautiful family and my truly wonderful friends, you light up my life.Thank you.

6. I SHALL ENJOY MYSELF AND HAVE FUN, BECAUSE, IF I'M NOT WHAT'S THE POINT ?

My list isn't full of a load of material things, that, really in the scale of things, don't matter all that much, if I get the stuff in my list right, all the rest will fall into place. Just for a while, when I felt so ill this autumn, I felt old. So I reckon that I've tried feeling old, and that I really, really, really didn't like it, so I'm not doing that any more. A new year of exciting adventures awaits me. watch out 2012 I'm coming to get you.

HAPPY NEW YEAR, IT'S GOING TO BE A GOOD ONE

Postscript

Two moments of joy this christmas that I wanted to share with you

1. On the 24th Jane and I were in Cardiff to see the Russain State Ballet dance Sleeping Beauty, we went into Mothercare to see if we could get a fireguard for my log burner with Dante coming for Christmas. As we walked towards the lift, one of  the endlessy repeated Christmas songs started on the PA, to which Jane and I merriley joined in at the tops of our voices, only to be faced with the lift doors opening, as 2 young mothers with pushchairs almost fell over with each other with shocked horror. As we stepped into the lift, Jane and I looked at each other and burst out laughing.

2. Dante sitting on his bright red scootalong firetruck( my pressie to him) on Christmas Day pressing the buttons for the music and sitting dancing to the music.Though it must be said I couldn't get the damn music out of my head for days afterwards.
