Had a lovely day last sunday, running an Easy Peasy Lace Knitting workshop at Calon Yarns Craft Studio in Cardiff. 6 students plus the lovely Lynne who runs Calon Yarns. No one who is new to lace knitting, ever beleives that knitting lace basically consists of yarn overs, knit two together .And also of course the beeeeg one of confidence, beleiving that you can do it and not getting too screwed up over mistakes. Once you get to that, the fun can begin.

By the afternoon an air of serious concentration had arrived as they all had to knit a lace pattern from a chart. Hopefully we now have 7 new lace knitters. It was a very warm sunny day, it must have been summer and I went and missed it. I can't describe our current weather as summer, it's wet and cool with somewhat torrential rain. A week Saturday is my son's wedding, and I would like everyone to ask for warm sunny weather for us for the day, Pretty Plesae Mr Weather Man send us some sunshine for the 16th .

The 16th is also the weekend of the KnitNation show in London. I'm really sorry to be missing it, but I kind of have other committments that day. It was such a brilliant show last year, I do hope that it goes  well this year. I bought some absolutley fabulous quiviut and silk lace weight there last year, and on  the wedding day a teensy weensy bit of me will be wondering what I'm missing out on.But the rest of me will be having an absolutley fab time, so hey, there'll be other shows, and it's not as though I'm exactly short in the stash department is it ? The DH doesn't call this place the Yarn Wharehouse for nothing.
